About Steve
Steve is the founder of Active Health Clinics and has been practising chiropractic for over 20 years. He’s often found at the clinic more than he probably should be as he’ll admit the real challenging work occurs at home where he’s kept firmly on his toes by his three very energetic, and very awesome, boys.
Steve is all about the outdoors and often jokes that if he could bring his treatment bench into the woods, he probably ‘wood’. Steve has recently got into Dad jokes…he’s regularly told they’re not funny. What do they know.
Steve has always had a strong interest in movement, sport and understanding how the body works, which ultimately led him into chiropractic. Since 2003 he has helped a wide range of patients, from people dealing with everyday aches and pains to athletes preparing for events or recovering from injury.
Qualifications and Experience
Steve graduated from McTimoney Chiropractic College in Abingdon in 2003 with a Bachelor of Honours degree in Chiropractic.
He is registered with the General Chiropractic Council (GCC) and is a member of the United Chiropractic Association (UCA).
With more than two decades of experience in practice, Steve has worked with thousands of patients experiencing a wide range of musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. His work focuses on helping people understand the underlying causes of their symptoms, rather than simply just short-term pain relief.

Treatment Philosophy / Approach to Care
Steve’s approach is based on the belief that long-term improvement usually comes from identifying why a problem developed in the first place.
Treatment often combines hands-on techniques with advice around movement, exercise and lifestyle factors that may be contributing to the issue. He believes that no single treatment is the answer to everything, and that using a team of specialists often produces the best outcomes for patients.
The goal is not only to help people feel better in the short term, but to help them move better and stay healthier for longer.
Conditions Commonly Treated
Steve regularly helps patients experiencing:
- Lower back pain
- Neck pain
- Mid back and rib pain
- Cervicogenic headaches and migraines
- Sciatica
- Sports injuries
- Postural problems
- Joint and muscle pain
Community Involvement
Steve is actively involved in the local community and is particularly passionate about sport and youth development.
He coaches two of his three sons in grassroots youth football locally and has also been involved in coaching with Chelsea Development programmes. Supporting local sports clubs and community initiatives is something he enjoys greatly.
Steve is also keen to support local charities wherever possible, particularly organisations such as Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service and Thames Hospice, helping to organise events that raise both awareness and funds.
Outside the Clinic
Outside the clinic, Steve enjoys staying active and has completed seven marathons, along with numerous half marathons, cycling events and triathlons.
Despite all the endurance sport, his biggest passion remains team sports, particularly football, where he continues to coach youth football locally.
He is also a proud supporter of what he still insists is the greatest football club in the world — Manchester United.
