About Dan

I’m a chiropractor with over 10 years of experience helping people get out of pain and back to doing what they enjoy – whether that’s training, working, or just moving comfortably day to day.

I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Logan University in Missouri, USA and spent the early part of my career in Seattle at NW Sports Rehab. I worked with a broad mix of patients there, from everyday people dealing with back or neck pain to athletes connected with elite programmes including the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks and the NCAA Division I University of Washington Huskies.

In 2022, my wife and I made the decision to move to the UK to be closer to her family. We’re now based locally with our daughter Elizabeth, and I continue to do the same work I’ve always enjoyed—helping people move better and feel better.

Along the way, I’ve served as Head of Medical for a National One Rugby Union side Rams RFC, and as Medical Director for the Washington State Open Tennis Tournament in Seattle, Washington USA. I now practise in Maidenhead and Winnersh, where much of my work involves helping people with ongoing or complex problems that have not responded to previous treatment.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Doctor of Chiropractic – Logan University (Magna Cum Laude)
  • Bachelor of Science – Logan University
  • Bachelor of History – Purdue University
  • Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP®)
  • International Certified Sports Chiropractor (ICSC)
  • National Board of Chiropractic Examiners (USA) – Part I-IV and Physiotherapy

I’ve continued to build on that foundation with additional training in areas like fascial manipulation, soft tissue therapy, movement assessment, nutrition, and rehabilitation-based care. My technique influences are derived most from Stecco Fascia Manipulation, Reinhardt Diversified, Motion Palpation Institute, Prague School of Rehabilitation – Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS), Len Faye, Craig Liebenson – Rehabilitation of the Spine and First Principles of Movement, Active Release Techniques (ART), Functional Movement Systems (FMS).

Treatment Philosophy / Approach to Care

My approach is pretty simple: the body works as a system, and if you only treat one part in isolation, you often miss the real problem.

A lot of people come in with something like shoulder pain or lower back pain, but when you take a step back, the issue isn’t just that one area. It could be coming from the hips, the feet, or how the body is moving as a whole.

I work off the idea that you need to move well before you move more. So the goal isn’t just to get you out of pain – it’s to improve how your body functions so the problem is less likely to come back.

Complex Case Focus

A big part of my work is helping people who feel like they’ve already tried everything.

That usually means looking a bit deeper. I combine chiropractic manipulation with more detailed soft tissue and fascial work, which often helps uncover restrictions that are missed with more traditional approaches.

Sometimes it’s a long-standing back issue, sometimes it’s a recurring injury that never fully settled. Either way, the goal is the same: figure out what’s actually driving the problem and deal with it properly.

This approach works well for athletes, but just as often it’s everyday patients who’ve been dealing with something for months or years and want a clearer answer.

Conditions Commonly Treated

I regularly helps patients experiencing:

  • Lower back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Shoulder problems
  • Hip and knee pain
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Sports and gym-related injuries
  • General stiffness and movement issues
  • Persistent symptoms after concussion

Treatment Techniques

Treatment usually involves a combination of:

  • Chiropractic manipulation
  • Fascial and soft tissue work
  • Movement assessment
  • Rehab exercises and mobility work
  • Advice around training, activity, and ergonomics

Community Involvement

I’ve been involved in rugby locally for a number of years, including serving as Head of Medical for Rams Rugby Club. I now continue working with the team as a consulting chiropractor alongside my clinic work.

I also run workshops and talks for local groups and workplaces, mostly focused on injury prevention and moving better day to day.

Outside the Clinic

Outside of work, I like to stay active – gym, running, and swimming when I can. I was a competitive swimmer at University in the States (Purdue University – Go Boilers!) and still enjoy getting back in the pool.

I also play tennis with my wife in the summer, get outdoors as much as possible (rain included), and spend a lot of time with our daughter Elizabeth. When things are quieter, I’ll usually have a guitar in my hands.
